Description
This dictionary is, in fact, three books in one. It is not only the first reasonably comprehensive thesaurus of both the Anglo-American and of the French business language, but it is also a specialized bilingual dictionary, the first of its kind and of its size, consisting of some 70,000 entries of the most widely used English or French words and phrases with their closest equivalents in the other language. Its compilation took some ten years during which the authors lived, worked and taught first in the United States and then in Britain, prior to their return to France. The authors were thus naturally led to incorporate not only standard expressions established by usage in the United Kingdom, but also a great many newer American words and phrases.
