Description
Lexique des Pipelines a Terre et en Mer, Anglais-Français, Français-Anglais
This lexicon is divided into two major parts i.e.an English-French section and a French-English sectionseparated by a compilation of initials and abbreviations.
The order of presentation of the vocabulary is traditional: the key-words are listed in alphabetical succession; the compound words and phrases related to each key-word also follow in alphabetical order.
Large type printing is used for the initial language whether it is a key-word, compound word, phrase or abbreviation, while translations are printed in small type.
The initials and abbreviations refer to Companies, Associations, interntional Organizations, etc., in connection with the subjects covered by the lexicon, as well as to certain technical expressions in common use and to units of measure.
Some terms are essentially or exclusively reserved to specific subjects or fields of activity – technical, administrative, legal, etc. – which are mentioned in italic type after the term concerned. These abbreviations of subjects used in this lexicon are listed further on, page X.
