Description
Ancient and Medieval History. Modern, Contemporary and Social History. From the introduction:
This history of the world has been planned to provide the non-specialist with that historical perspective that alone can make the events of the day understandable; that alone can make any judgment upon them valuable, any action in connection with them justified. It will be noticed that the narrative progressively broadens as it proceeds fromm remote times to the present day. The editors have mapped the part dealing with post-war events to a larger scale, since it is to the events immediately preceding the present that we must turn for a detailed interpretation of the news.
The war mentioned is the First World War, and given taht this was written in the thirties, gives a unique insight into the views o0f the time.
